Entries that list a playing partner but do not include the entry fee for that Partner will be accepted. However, the listed Partner will not be considered entered in the tournament until their entry form and check for the entry fees is received. If the check is received after the entry deadline, then that player's entry is subject to be rejected. Can I Invite a Guest(s) to Play a Tournament with me? Yes. Your guest(s) will need to complete the guest entry from(s) for the same tournament, list you as the sponsoring member and playing partner, and mail their own individual entry check(s) to the CSRA Seniors PO Box.
Guest(s) are only eligible for closest to the pin prizes. The sponsoring member is responsible for communicating all tournament information to their guests, i.e. starting hole, start time, cancellation, etc. Can I Cancel My Tournament Entry? Yes. Cancellations must be submitted by an email to [email protected], by noon of the Sunday of the week that the tournament is scheduled to be played. Cancellations need to have a valid reason. Please note that weather or cart path only is not a valid reason. What Happens to my Check if I Cancel, or the Tournament is Cancelled? If you cancel your entry by the deadline, your check will be destroyed. If the tournament is cancelled, your check will be destroyed. If you cancel after the deadline, don’t show up to play, or withdraw once play has started, your check will be deposited in the CSRA Seniors bank account. When Will my Check be Deposited? New and returning membership checks will be deposited after they are processed, generally within a week of receipt. Tournament checks are held until the cancellation deadline and in general are deposited within a day after the tournament completion. How Do I Know if I'm In the Tournament? Players that are in the Tournament will be posted on the website under Tournaments tab and they will receive an email with ‘Alpha List and Tee sheets’ listing all the players entered in a tournament approximately one week prior to the event. How is my quota determined? All tournament playing handicaps, quotas, and scoring is based on the GHIN system. In general, your GHIN value is downloaded approximately 4 days prior to the scheduled tournament so to be as current as practical to complete tournament set up. Course adjustments will be made to a player’s handicap index based on the tees being played. Members should post scores from all rounds played to keep their handicap index up to date as handicaps do change from golf course to golf course. How is my Flight determined? It is based on your tee choice and your USGA/GHIN handicap index. All effort is made to assign you to a flight that matches you with players of similar playing abilities. Flight numbers and sizes vary depending on how many players are entered in a specific tournament and what tees they are playing from.
How Do I Mark The Scorecard? Players are to exchange their score cards with the players in the adjoining cart in their tee group for recording purposes. Players are to write down their actual scores per hole. No score above double bogey should be recorded and a player should pick-up at that point. Total up your score for each nine and overall. Adding up your front and back 9 hole and total score expedites our error checking and allows awards to be processed quicker. Players and recorders are to sign the scorecard attesting to their agreement that the scores by hole, by nine, and total is correct. What Do I Do With the Scorecard When I Finish Playing? There will someone from the scoring committee accepting scorecards as you finish your round. Bring in signed scorecards before doing anything else. When Will the Pay Outs Be Given Out? Payouts are handed out immediately after play and scoring is completed. If you can’t stay, please have someone pick up your voucher. The CSRA Leadership reserves the option to use unclaimed vouchers to purchase ‘door prizes’ for a random draw at a subsequent event if it determines that to be in the best interest of the membership. How Do I Find Out the Results of the Tournament? All results are posted on the website under each tournament. In general, a tournament summary email of financials and results is sent to all members within a few days of the tournament completion. Will the Tournament be Cancelled for Bad Weather? The club professional will determine whether a tournament should be cancelled, delayed, or if cart restrictions will be imposed due to inclement weather. The club professional will try to make the call as much in advance as possible and the Leadership will notify all players when the decision is known. However, in case of a questionable weather situation the cancellation could be the morning of the tournament. If you have any doubt each player is responsible for contacting the club. Club phone numbers can be found on the CSRA Seniors Schedule. If a tournament is cancelled prior to the starting time, all checks will be destroyed. Cancelled tournaments will be re-scheduled for a new play date, if possible, in the same calendar year.
